Chlamydia (kla-mid-ee-a) is the most common STI with 1-in-14 young people infected!

You won't know if you (or one of your partners) have chlamydia, because it often has no
symptoms - yet can lead to serious health problems and is the leading cause of infertility.

The good news? - It's free and easy to get a Chlamydia Test...

It's best to get a chlamydia test every 12 months (or every time you change partner).

Chlamydia test now!

Why are the tests free?

With 1-in-14 infected, the NHS is offering free postal test kits in many areas.

Who pays for the test?

Where available your local NHS Trust or Council cover the cost of a chlamydia test.

How does it work?

The chlamydia test requires urine or a swab to be returned to our lab, see about the test.

Because Chlamydia is so common, it's recommended that under 25s who are sexually active should get a chlamydia test once a year, or when they change partner.

Chlamydia often doesn't show any symptoms, so you may not even know if you have it, yet if it's left untreated it can lead to serious health problems such as infertility!

If you have a Chlamydia test and find you're positive, don't worry - it can be easily treated with a free course of antibiotics, and quick treatment will prevent long term health problems.

To take the Chlamydia test you don't need to be examined, just give a quick urine or vaginal swab sample. With our postal Chlamydia test kits, this can be done privately in the comfort of your own home, avoiding embarrassing visits to your doctor.

The chlamydia test looks for the presence of the bacteria Chlamydia Trachomatis and you can choose how you would like to be notified of the result, for example by SMS text message.

Some areas we work with also include a free test for gonorrhea (also known as Gonorrhoea). The prevalence of gonorrhea is lower than chlamydia, so the additional test is only offered in areas where there is a higher than average likelihood of infection.
